Holbein Painting Knives

In a previous post, I touted the excellence of the Holbein SX series of painting knives.  They were rather expensive when on the market, but have been discontinued, so finding them is now often difficult and the prices vary considerably.

I was fortunate enough today to find several of these knives at my nearest Dick Blick Art Materials store.  The knives were in the clearance section, marked down from $36.99, to $12.67!  On top of that great price, I also used my Blick discount card and a promotional flyer to get the knives for under $10 each.  I purchased three, and am kicking myself now for not buying all of them.

This might be a good time for anyone who is interested in these painting tools to check their local store too.

Yes, thanks for letting me know. These are the ones with the black handles right? Been admiring them for some time because I loved the less expensive ones by Holbein but finally indulged about 2 years ago and thought it was well worth the $40+ and then it got bent and I went back and replaced it. Thanks for letting me know, I don't think any other knife compares with it as to responsiveness if you're trying to use it to paint with. Thanks again.
