The Portrait Institute will be hosting its 2010 lecture,
The de László Magic, this coming January 22, at 7:00 PM, at
The Salmagundi Club, New York. Presenter
John Howard Sanden will examine
de László, the "most successful portrait artist of them all," with an illustrated lecture highlighting major events in the artist's life, and showcasing some of the 3,000 works of art created by the vigorous Hungarian painter. Tickets ($20.00 each, or free to Portrait Institute members) are required, and can be ordered from the Institute's
webpage.

László remindes me of another hungarian portrait-painter, Joszi Arpád Koppay (you can see pictures of him at http://kunstkommtvonkoennen.blogspot.com/2009/03/koppay-maler-der-high-society.html)
I'm not sure if they knew each other or if the older Koppay inspired or trained László, but it seems possible.
Nevertheless i like both.

I have another link on another computer, ill see if i can find it tomorrow, its a tutorial made in interview form where he paints a woman in a yellow dress and a strange headdress.
