New Book from Dorian Vallejo

Open Palette Press has just released the first book devoted to the art of New Jersey portraitist, Dorian Vallejo. Titled, Drawings: Inspired by Life, this 192 page volume offers a variety of life drawings created by Vallejo "solely for the pleasure of creative research and the visual expression of ideas." Though inspired by the academic drawings created by artists more than a century ago, Vallejo's drawings are far from academic in execution: rather, they are studies in form, mood, tone, and the beauty of a quickly-realized, figural representation. For more information on the book, and to place a order, visit Vallejo's site, Drawing from Life.

The drawings are nice, but I can not understand why the drawings were not printed on both sides. I see that the left pages are left blank ??? I am an avid book collector but I can't say that I have read many monographs that featured plates printed on every other page. As a matter of fact I can not recall any, at the moment.
