Portrait artist Dorian Vallejo is offering a three-day workshop June 18th, 19th, and 20th in Montclair, New Jersey. Although Vallejo will be using portraiture as the vehicle for his lessons, it is his aim to teach a technique that "allows for a free, expressive approach to drawing and painting" which will benefit all artists. During the three-day-long, single pose, Vallejo will be offering demonstrations, lectures, and personal instruction to the class, and should the students wish to observe this professional at work, individuals can also watch Vallejo as he paints alongside the class from the same model. Students are invited to draw or paint as training will be given in both.
The workshop is part of the adult class schedule offered by the Yard School of Art at the Montclair Art Museum in Montclair, New Jersey. Fees for the class vary depending on students' membership to the museum, but for non-members, the workshop is only $170. Sessions run from 6-9 PM on Friday, June 18th, and from 11 AM to 5 PM on both Saturday and Sunday, June 19th and 20th. Space is limited, so register soon at the Montclair Art Museum website.
