Underpaintings in International Artist Magazine

In each issue of International Artist Magazine, the Portrait Society of America's Chairman, Gordon Wetmore, presents a segment dedicated to the Art of the Portrait. His contribution to the bi-monthly magazine contains a selection of photographs, interviews, and articles, written by and about members of the Portrait Society, and I look forward to reading it every issue.

For the August/September edition of International Artist, I was approached and asked if I would allow the use of the write-ups I posted to this blog from the last PSoA Conference to help recapitulate the events for readers of Wetmore's column. I was happy to contribute my writings, and with the aid of PSoA's Executive Director, Christine Egnoski, who filled in descriptions of the portions of the conference I was unable to attend, and with the help of photographer Steve Smith, who recorded the event through his camera lens, our article was complete. It has been my honor to be included in this fantastic art magazine.

The Portrait Society of America's 13th Annual Art of the Portrait Conference will take place April 28th through May 1st, 2011, in Atlanta, Georgia. Registration for the event is discounted through August 1st, at a price of $335.75 for PSoA members; after October 1st, prices for members will increase to $395. Membership to the PSoA is currently $70.00 per year for artists, and includes a subscription to International Artist Magazine, a $38.00 USD value.

International Artist Magazine was recently named the most popular art magazine in an online poll conducted by Making a Mark, one of the top-rated art blogs in the United Kingdom.
