Michael Shane Neal gave a great presentation on The Power of Persistence and how talent, without hard work, won't be enough to make you a success. As usual, his speech was full of Southern charm, humor, and inspiration.

Jeremy Lipking organized and moderated a panel discussion about the mainstream media's disdain of the current trends and growth in the realist movement. Panelists Collins, Swanson, Panero, and Steele discussed the state of art criticism, financial trends in Modernist art, and the term "Contemporary" and it's implications in the Realist Revolution.
Lipking, Steele, Tony Pro, Scott Burdick and many other artists have taken the cause of Realism to their hearts, organizing Realist artists in hopes that, as a group, we will gain a stronger footing in today's museums, schools, and marketplace. They are employing modern technology and free access to information to increase the public's awareness that Realism is a vibrant and valid aspect of the contemporary art world. Yesterday's discussion was broadcast via a live web stream, and more discussions and presentations are planned for the near future.
