Artist Casey Baugh has recently made several updates to his website, including the addition of a new section of downloadable, high-definition videos which he calls "Art - Unlayered." In each video, Baugh discusses the thoughts and processes behind the steps in creating several of his recent paintings. These 10 minute video dissertations are available from Baugh's website for $15 an episode. The first film, in which he dissects his self-portrait (pictured above), is offered for free.
Baugh has also expanded his gallery section in his latest website update. Not only are there images of his recent New York City solo show, Évoquer, but now fans of the young artist's work can also look through his archived collection of earlier paintings.

Thanks for sharing this. His work and the video are awesome.
How can he spray acrylic paint over lead primed linen? Isn't acrylic on top of oil chemically unsound?
Thanx for the link. C.Baugh is a skilled painter and I do not understand why does he waste his talent on paintings that look like fashion photos. I assume there must be a market for pieces like those. Sure, seeing great looking models masterfully painted is always nice, but frankly speaking - this type of art (though better than 90% of current production) appears somewhat shallow. Casey can do better than that.
I agree with tinoradman. These paintings look like photos straight out of Cosmo. There is a high level of skill apparent in his work. If only they had some depth.
Unlike the paintings of the young models, his introspective self portrait is a very beautiful design with his hand in an inspired position.
