Follow that Blogger! - Scott Waddell
Steven 14" X 11"
A little more than a year ago, Florida native Scott Waddell began his Sketchbook Blog to give readers a behind-the-scenes look at the preparatory work for his portraits and narrative paintings. As a former student of both the Florence Academy of Art and Jacob Collins' Water Street Atelier, Waddell is well-trained and is both an excellent draftsman and painter. Presently, he is among the faculty of the Grand Central Academy of Art, and also offers workshops throughout the country.
Recently, Waddell has begun a series of webisodes which can be viewed on his YouTube channel, his blog, or on the blog of the Grand Central Academy. He is quite comfortable in front of the camera, and the explanations and examples he presents are intelligent and well-planned. To date, he has filmed five of these tutorials, and they have all been a treat to watch. If you have not seen them yet, be sure to watch them, and follow his blog for more updates, including information on the upcoming portrait demonstration download which he is currently filming.
