PSoA Certificate of Excellence - Holly Metzger

---------------------------------

Holly Metzger  -  Benjamin  -  20 X 16 in.

Sylvania, Ohio artist, Holy Metzger, O.P.A., is well-known for her portraits of dogs, though, as evidenced by her painting of Benjamin, her skills are not limited to any particular subject matter.  Metzger previously painted portraits with an open-palette, but several years ago, learned that a limited palette suited her needs better.  Metzger generally uses two colors for each hue:  cadmium red and alizarin, sap green and viridian, and a warm and a cool blue, and for her white, Metzger employs an alkyd white, because its fast-drying properties enable her to create texture quickly and more easily.¹  To see more of the artist's paintings, please visit Richland Fine Art in Nashville, Tennessee, the gallery which represents her work.

Jack  -  12 X 12 in.
