On June 15th, Christie's King Street will be offering lots for sale in their Victorian & British Art Sale.  They will follow this auction with another sale of the same name and category on June 29th at their South Kensington location.  The paintings in both sales represent a variety of themes and styles - from Pre-Raphaelitism and Neo-Classicism, to genre painting, social realism, and British Impressionism.  Of regular, particular emphasis in these auctions are works by the Newlyn School and Colony.¹  Though neither sale has that singular masterpiece which will draw international attention, there are still jewels amongst the combined 329 lots, and the online catalogs are always worth browsing.
