Once again, I feel like being in the minority, but I think all these sketches look like carbon copies of Schmid's handling and style. Honestly, I now find this style extremely formulaic when not mastered by Schmid himself (or Lipking, who has a fantastic sense of color and tone). Even the signatures by most of the painters look the same, like Sargent's signature pastiches, for God's sake! I feel a lot of ok technical aptitude, but very little personality and artistic sense.

This is so cool...like looking at people's handwriting of the same word. All of them are wonderful.
